the Heaven on Earth beat was sent to cudi 3 years ago by a french producer
i want to like The Void more than i do but it almost sounds like a parody of a Cudi song lmfao
it’s hard to explain, like it’s a bit too on the nose or something, and the chorus is a lil awkward
Coming to your collaboration with Kid Cudi, can you tell us where it comes from, what are the origins?
The origin of all this is my first trips to the United States. Two/three years ago, I used to go there a lot, especially to Atlanta and Los Angeles. It turns out that one day, a member of Kanye West's team heard some of my songs and contacted a mutual friend we had in France. He explained to them that he wanted to meet me and that he felt he could work with me on some projects. So we were able to organize the meeting directly in Los Angeles. That's why I make the link with my travels, I saved time thanks to the fact that I was already there. I was in Atlanta when I heard that this guy from GOOD Music wanted to meet me, I went straight to Los Angeles to see him.
Then what happened?
We met, we talked, we made music, I made him listen to stuff. I left him a pack of 100 beats. And then we kept in touch, we exchanged regularly. Paradoxically, it had been a little while since we had been in contact, something like a year, when I got the news. A little by surprise, he contacted me last summer and said: 'There is one of the compositions in your pack that one of my artists liked, he put on it. I do it without asking myself more questions than that, but at that time I didn't know it was Kid Cudi yet.
When did you learn?
A few months later, it was a total shock. What's crazy is that the beat in question is part of the pack I left him 2 or 3 years ago. What you need to know is that American rappers are increasingly looking to open up to other types of music, to other registers. And if this prod can sound like regular French rap for you or me, in Kid Cudi's ear it sounds different from what he's used to hearing in the United States. So for him, it's different and even new. For me it's a 3 year old prod, for him it's new. I was in the future somehow (laughs). But really it's an honor.
Apparently Fantano did a live stream reaction and it was mostly positive
Someone uploaded the clips for each song and he basically was impressed with minor complaints on some.
But I didn't really hear him at any point say anything like this song sucks or trash or anything. He was pretty positive. And his complaints for certain songs were very minor.
Can someone record the twitch irs not streaming for me
