RIP_ActavisMy biggest issue with this is it feels like he set out to make a record that sounds like what PEOPLE like rather than what HE likes
It very much ticks all the boxes of what is popular and 'in' at the moment
- Spacey Travis-esque production
- Psychedelic trap-beats with Mike Dean outros
- Contemporary 'trap' features (Pop Smoke, Skepta, Trippie)
Whereas MOTM1 & 2 feel like records in which he was just making music
that reflected HIM best, whatever sound that took shape in didn't matter -
This record feels very conscious of what's popular at the moment, and then proceeds to shape itself around thatI just keep thinking about what he could have done with modern artists. OPN, Mike Will, Pierre, art dealer, kaytra, flylo, blacc mass, maaly raw, mgmt, ye, tierra whack’s production team etc.
idk there’s a lot a talent out here that matches his signature sound while still delivering that modern rap for the new gen. He really could’ve elevated on this project instead of playing it safe

Only metric that truly shows how much an album is listened to these days is streaming numbers. Billboard sales don't mean s***, neither do white critics opinions. Who you think they gon give a higher score a white girl or a black man??
