Depends if you actually go into it with an open mind and not trying to compare and contrast everything which seems like a difficult task to people who don’t listen to every cudi release.

The people who only listen to his popular releases will be the ones comparing everything.

People just need to appreciate every project by itself instead of pitting every album against another.

Motm1 and motm2 don’t sound alike.

Ik what you’re saying, but like you said motm 1 and 2 don’t sound a like but yet they’re both still highly regarded as great albums, at the end of the day I feel like people just want a good album

I agree but cudi has been plagued with people hell bent on him recreating those albums his whole career. Even if this is part of the trilogy he’s just not the type of artist to do what is normally expected of him.

This could sound different and still be good but if it doesn’t sound like motm enough some people with complain regardless.

Even when ppds came out people were trying to say this is that “motm sound” which sure it had some similarities but it was still a completely dif sound.

We Never heard cudi make songs like all in,dance 4 eternity, Releaser,etc etc before but it was great nonetheless.

I feel like KSG I more similar to MOTM sound tbh. It’s such vintage Cudi on that album

I also think this album could easily surpass one or both motms and most people would have nostalgia blinding them and would never admit it even if it were close.

There are some fans who are just set in stone with the mindset that he’ll never top those albums and that isn’t a good way to look at it imo.

if PP&DS came out in 2009, these same people would be calling it an absolute classic too

My point exactly, too many people are skewed by nostalgia and the legacy those albums have so to them every cudi album after it can never be as good no matter what.
