If we got the 3rd pick and we could get Fields with our 2nd round pick and then drafted MHJ at #3 that would probably be best case scenario right now.
I’m not holding my breath that we get even a top 5 pick though.
Jets and Bills really have to show up and even though it’s unlikely it still might not be enough
No one mentioned Bowers, always MHJ… Bowers is Kittle 2.0, he would probably sit until we’re able to move Henry but either way we got options for skill players. We just can’t go tackle or qb. I think qb is the last thing we should worry about, give Mac Jones a solid chance

Did I read that last line of your post right

He must’ve skipped this season or something

Bro in all honesty he’s not great but we gotta look at his situation. Wtf is O’Brien doing?

Like that rookie year is hard to see as a fluke, when he has a designed one read play he performs at a Purdy level. Is he an elite qb? No, but give him a solid cast first. We’re acting like Hurts some damn beast when he’s literally just got a good cast
Edit: Basically we got him at 15 out of absolutely desperation and we literally knew he was a game manager. Just put it in the right spot within 30 yards.

Mac’s rookie season was a fluke. McDaniels held his hand for a majority of the season. After the wind game, it was obvious that Bill didn’t trust him (with good reason). Once Bill and McDaniels took the training wheels off, Mac was awful after the bye in 2021. He’s not good.

This, but even more so
A) the first half of his rookie schedule was deceivingly weak, which made it easy for him to look like the real deal
B) once teams started getting tape on him and figured out his weaknesses, he became toast

I don’t think y’all realize that there’s rarely any qb that ever looked good while constantly changing coordinators his first 3 years. He haven’t even got a chance to properly focus on his game cause he’s learning new variations of screens every year

I totally get that sentiment.
I really just don’t think Mac has the skill set to be a good nfl QB. And his ceiling (if he ever does reach it) is not worth putting more time in to getting him there. I hope he has success on another team though.
But you are 100% right about us giving him the worst possible situation to be successful imaginable and I pray that the next young QB we get is not given such a horrible circumstance. I said it for the last three years now, the tools he has been given are terrible — a horrible O Line, Terrible WRs, and average to below average tight end play. And yes, add in the constant switching of OCs, who each had their own style, and it has been ridiculous.
How yall feeling about bringing Russ in if he’s cut and we can either sign him to a cheap deal or a short term deal? 👀

I’m not saying he’s good, I’m saying we could at least make something in the playoffs with him if the offense is built right. Eli Manning got sbs for f*** sake

How cheap? His ability to extend plays probably win us 2 more games
We lose next week and we get a top 3 pick no matter what.
Simpletons going to be doing mental gymnastics on overdrive this week to justify rooting for a meaningless win over the Jets.

“It’s a rivalry”
I see a WR like Zay Flowers ball his rookie year and really question how Bill got a job post Brady
“It’s a rivalry”
“My pappy and my pappys pappy hated them Jets. Heck, I’m practically an anti-jets fan more than I am a Patriots fan.”
Nevermind the fact that a Jets loss would not only weaken our draft position, but also strengthen theirs :hah:

i will say, this last draft class of his is looking absolutely amazing — minus the beyond dumb move of getting Ryland instead of using the huge amount of picks we had after the 4th round to move up to draft Moody.
Assuming Ravens sit their starters next week, maybe we’ll finally get a chance to see Cunningham this season after all lol

Yea but you know he knows he can’t draft a skill player for s*** so he’s going to probably go linemen. Williams probably won’t go first if the bears are stuck at first, I don’t see anyone actually being sold on any of the qbs this year. I mean we could trade back for hella picks, get bowers, Nabers, or Coleman. Probably Penix in the second but I honestly feel like he’s a bad hit away.
Just really not looking forward to the draft cause we need more help than we have picks

Can’t spell Elite without Eli
