This worth seeing in IMAX? I have HBO Max, but I love watching super hero films in theaters
Yes
There’s no way capt boomerang stays dead right? Like There has to be some kind of capt boomerang from another multiverse that replaces our boomerang after the Flash movie :jordancry: I need my rogues
It was alright maybe it’ll get better for me on a rewatch but as of now Guardians >>>
The opening & 3rd act great tho

I love how it wasn’t just soft rock 60s/70s like guardians. He got to explore more feelings and styles

yea I bet he couldn’t wait to do that, I was thinking the same thing. he’s got a great ear
Movie was absolutely fire . The last act tied together all the elements so well and the s*** surprisingly had good character arcs completed
idk how i feel about the mf rats saving the day
glad cena is still alive though, i wonder if hell be in the next one
It makes a lot of sense thematically
especially the flashback that followed
can I just say I’m glad they didn’t bring back will Smith for that leader type role, idris elba KILLEDDDDD IT HEREEEEE n had sum cool ass gadgets
Man, I loved every single minute of this.
I was smiling or laughing under my mask the whole time. The action, the music, the shots, the writing, everything was just
Like for example, the music:
In the first Squad, it was placed in scenes just to be there and have a popular song. Like why the f*** did Without Me play while the Squad was gearing up? Here, the music matched the moment. And it wasn’t dressed like a music video, most of the music was diegetic and I love that in films.
WB let James Gunn do what he wanted and he went and made probably the best movie in the DCEU (gonna need a rewatch to confirm).
Like James Gunn got me to care about Ratcatcher and Polkadot Man.
RATCATCHER AND POLKADOT MAN
A year ago, If anyone told me that I would give a single s*** about Polkadot Man I would’ve laughed in their face. But James Gunn did it.
Bloodsport was great, Harley was great, King Shark was great, Peacemaker, Waller, etc. all great
Gunn is at his strongest when he can write his characters how he wants.
Right now, I have zero flaws against The Suicide Squad.
Dare I say 5/5? It might’ve earned it.
Definitive rating after I rewatch tomorrow.
S***ted on all the other "edgy" dark action comedies I can remember that have come out recently. Deadpool especially
Idris and Cena killed it. Dastalmachian too honestly. These were weird characters that were funny NOT in the "I don't see how that's a party", sardonic, fake witty kind of way. Felt SOOOO f***ing refreshing for that to be the case.
Thought this was honestly VERY good. Like, better than guardians by what seems to be a wide margin on initial viewing. And with way less! This felt like one of those "Marvel MAX" stories, s*** felt like a real comic book onscreen which is strangely becoming more and more of a rarity. Not weird and quirky just to try and wring dry laughs out of the audiences, it genuinely exercised some creative liberties and made some stylistic choices. Loved it
