Only really liked Bad Decisions out of the 3 singles. The new album tracks are very good

The things I would do to get waken up by new Strokes album

The way that the guitars are panned in each ear gets annoying after the 2nd track tbh

This is true especially on Eternal Summer

I keep saying “oh this sounds like Bombay Bicycle Club” or “this sound like Foster The People” then Im like “no b**** those bands came out 10 years after The Strokes”

It’s amazing how much they’ve influenced so many bands despite being inactive for most of the last 10 years. The album is very good but doesn’t really add anything new to the conversation. It’s very safe.

yeah while I agree on paper I don't think they necessarily came to this with a deep message on their mind or anything, this time around it feels like it's just them re-learning to have fun together as a group, and it's an absolute joy to hear them discover that again

those little bits of studio banter throughout

Not every album he works with have poor sound quality though, like Minutes to Midnight was one of the albums he worked with and it had great mix/master

You know I don’t expect much from pitchfork anymore. But this review is terrible. Just from like a writing perspective idc about the score pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/the-strokes-the-new-abnormal
