    Something like that

But was it really relevant to the story? Tbh they do her dirty alot

Extremely relevant, it basically shows how personally invested she got into Tony and his issues, much deeper than a normal patient.

David chase such a lazy b******, said in an interview hbo wanted a prequel series but he just wants to make another movie

EVERYONE wants to see a prequel series with young Tony (Michael gandolfini is perfect in the role) running with richie, Ralphie, Paulie and the crew in his early days. Take your skirt off and put your big boy pants on and make it happen chase!

so I rewatched the final diner scene a couple times and I think the only logical conclusion is that the guy who was sitting at the counter killed Tony. The way he walks to the bathroom out of Tony’s line of vision is obviously an homage to The Godfather. The way the music cuts off as the screen abruptly cuts to black is another obvious sign that he died. As unfortunate as that ending is at least the last thing he got to see was his family one last time together

My biggest issue with this is that the MO guy had no reason to go to the bathroom and get the gun. They were in a civilian area, if he wanted to kill him he didn’t need to be secretive.

Also only a handful of people knew where Tony was going that night

Yea very fair point. What’s your theory?

I never really saw it as a death scene. Just a last glimpse of what the rest of his paranoid life would be like until he got arrested or popped. When and how that happened isn't really important, it's about all his bullshit finally catching up with him. That's my take on it at least.

I always thought that guy wanted to kill him from behind

I think the entire scene highlights his paranoia. It focuses on the members only guy because Tony is focusing on him. Keeps looking up at him because Tony deems him suspicious. He looks at the black guys too suspiciously. Anyone who could be a potential threat to him has him on high alert but as his family come in he lowers his guard.

Remember only a handful of people knew where he was. I think the ending very much is a “this is his life” and even ordinary things such as eating out with your family comes with a lot of paranoia and anxiety for him.

The fact it ends with “don’t stop” too is to on the nose. The lifestyle is going to keep continuing. We saw that episode that he’s unable to change his ways and is getting progressively worse. The show starts in therapy and then has to end when therapy finishes. Realistically he goes home, eats ice cream and then continues his days until he’s arrested or popped but without the therapy there is nowhere for him to vent.

I think the therapy is a huge part of the show because Tony spends the entire time using to to rationalise everything that’s happening in his life. The only reason we’re thrown into his life at that exact point (season one) is to watch how he deals with the panic attacks and stresses. They follow him until the day he’s kicked out of it. Once it ends he’s just stuck in that cycle. We know for a fact if he had therapy the next day he would of vented about his paranoia. He’s spoken about it before.

He 100% will be popped at some point but the reason Cage left it as ambiguous was to have conversations like this. Point of the show was to give an insight into what it would be like if a mob boss had a therapist. Ends when he no longer does.

COVID era Sopranos would be hilarious

Picturing the guys at the Bing with masks on. Paulie would totally self isolate.
