Aside from a few reoccurring motifs, I feel like each Smile album has it's own distinct style
Almost the same

Tom Skinner's doing a charity gig for Gaza aid next month. Dude rules.
Yeah, this one ain't it. It has a couple interesting songs, but as a whole it feels like underdeveloped throwaways. I will say this, if you take the 10 best songs from the three Smile projects you have a very solid album.
"if you take the 10 best songs from the three Smile projects, you have a very solid album"
so Wall of Eyes?
"if you take the 10 best songs from the three Smile projects, you have a very solid album"

what you removing to at least make space for a hairdryer and free in the knowledge
I like all the smile records, but feel they're distinct enough album to album
if I viewed them as the same the best I can say is they all sound like albums made after the same band made a moon shaped pool previously though
wouldnt mind a major change in sound but maybe thats not the point of the smile
"if you take the 10 best songs from the three Smile projects, you have a very solid album"
so Wall of Eyes?
Mostly.
Think I like wall of eyes a bit more than this but there’s still some cool tracks on here
rescinding this statement
which part of it?
That I like wall of eyes more. Sat with this new one for a week now and like it a lot more than on my first listen, it’s really good
Fantano gave this a 5 but he spends the whole review saying he likes the album outside of 3 songs

new Thom interview. some good stuff in here about Cutouts and The Smile's process in general, but on Radiohead:
"No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we've earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else's historical idea of what we should be doing."
"I don't think we feel the need to live up to anything," Yorke continues. "That feels like a non-problem.
"We are in this privileged position where we are still able to make music because of Radiohead, so no complaints."
basically stop asking him about Radiohead. abc.net.au/news/2024-10-21/thom-yorke-the-smile-interview-cutouts-australian-solo-tour/104490320
