It’s good to be aware of the worlds injustices. A lot of them can and should be solved, particularly the American military. Draining taxpayer money to fund wars that hurt innocent people and pay the people who arm them. It’s disgusting.
But frankly I think he’s smart enough to know that his problem is deeper than just landlords or even the concept of money. It’s human greed. If everyone could have equal of everything, some people would still try to take advantage and get ahead. In his ideal situation it’d most likely be the people with the power to regulate government housing. This is why no matter what system a country has put in place throughout history, it always reverts to upper middle and lower class.
so he can either do something about his situation or if he refuses to take part in a system he believes to be evil at the core he can rebel by.. idk I guess being poor and posting about it on a kanye west fan forum is what he decided to do.

if you had more money you wouldn’t mind the rent so much or you’d just bounce.imo the problem is with the concept of money in general, but I don’t know how much that can or should be changed. Regardless of the system, every society reverts to a small upper class, a larger middle class, and a vast lower class.
I believe in this country there’s at least somewhat of an opportunity to take your situation into your own hands. I can pay a months rent in 5 evenings of DoorDash. You can blame the system, accept your loss and spend your time reading books about how the system is stacked against you, or do what you can to change your situation.

socioeconomic mobility is low, something like 50% of americans spend half their money on rent. something tells me the solution is not "become a door dash driver"

why should we encourage greed and selfishness to propagate through our society while using the excuse of “human nature” to maintain such a status quo? We’ve overcome a plethora of problems caused by humans with human solution, why should one of the most basic human problems not be subjected to a process of elimination as well? i didnt say we should encourage it, i said its going to happen regardless of the system in place. socialism, communism, regulated or unregulated capitalism, monarchy, theocracy, etc.
i also didnt say everyone is selfish (most tho). but in general the people who are at the top of the pyramid are not only selfish but sociopathic, and thats not exclusive to capitalism.
