Finished kingdom of the dumps

Started Metaphor this week

I have kept myself very much 99,99% spoiler free about everything surrounding the game

I know Atlus and which directors were behind the game but damn i didnt expect it to be SO SIMILAR to persona and smt in many ways, they even found a way to include social links

Its really Persona 5 x smt digital devil saga lmao

Im having a lot of fun and very interested in the story, worldbuilding and gameplay but at the same time it kind of breaks the magic seeing this many similarities

Hope you enjoy it but yeah, this is how I felt throughout the entire game.

Was excited to play something different from Atlus but it turns put they just made another Persona variant and I’m not gonna lie, it kinda lowered my expectations for any titles Atlus may announce in the future.

I have made a mental note that they are the “safe video game” studio and I shouldn’t expect anything insane

So far im having a great time but yeah, its kind of dissapointing how similar some things are

I liked the Digital Devil saga influence with the archetypes, feels like that one is a system where u feel the influence and how they developed something out of it

But man... another game with social links, calendar system, time limited dungeons...

I know it isnt the ps2-ds era anymore and they wont churn out classics left and right but just wish Metaphor could have been its own thing in more ways

Still tho, the worldbuilding and history seems amazing so far I have great hopes on that front

Its absolutely idiotic there isnt a way to play chrono trigger on modern platforms besides the s***ty steam port. Idc if Square is working on a full remake or whatever, i want the original as well. Its in your top 3 most important games ever released Square Enix give it some respect

Honestly kinda surprised how soon it's coming out though. Guess the new Trails game is dropping next year.

Was lowkey s***ting on that Adventures of Elliot game but I think Team Asano/Square got me with Octopath 0 so I will be there

I will probably be scooping Ys X Proud Nordics in a couple weeks as well. Bit s***ty of Falcom to do what they did with it, but fortunately I didn't get super far into my 100% legally purchased copy of Ys X a year back

great game overall. Really stellar history, worldbuilding and narrative.

Longer than i thought, game gave me 100 hours. Def a great ass game

I assumed them and the magic academy were cut content to be included in the deluxe rerelease

Supposedly atlus aint doing any more re releases so i hope if anything was cut because of lack of time

I just finished up Nioh 3, thought honestly not sure what I'll start up next. Kinda considering the new Ys X rerelease, but don't like the idea of spending $70 on it lol. I did start a new DQ8 save recently, so I might have to hop back in on that
