Jay Elect sounds off on this. Am I the only one who hears that? He’s trying too hard to give out NOI bars instead of telling his story. Almost sounds like a parody of himself. Usually his flow and lyrics are more poetic and introspective....idk....I f*** with the album as a whole though. Just feel like every leak from Act 2 is a better song than what’s on the album, especially based on Jay Elects lyrics. Lemme see if it’ll grow.

    Tjhis is spot on.
Sorry KTT, sorry Jay. at the moment this is how I feel as well.

    Memories and Merlot
    Better in Tune

all the other Act II leaks. Were more 'Universal'. Don't need a recruitment tape for NOI from him. Jay's most poignant moments are the personal ones. Prob why APDTA is the best on this 'album'.

Also, I'm not a fan of Jigga.

Anyways, I'm grateful and in awe that Jay is finally mainstream, and even more that he got a collab album with Jigga as his debut (so its not actually a debut solo, but it has mass appeal).

But I can't pretend I still dont want Act II. Rough drafts finished, final tracks recorded, mixed, mastered and mainstream released.

Pretty much how I'm feeling. It's great, I won't deny it. The album is pretty solid, the production is incredible - but it's still missing that Jay Elect "spark" some of the other Act II stuff had. It does feel like I'm left still hungry for the real Act II...

Great album, but not what I was waiting for. Plays too much like a Jay-Z collab album, with too much Jay-Z influence.

Yeah, officially it IS a solo project, isn't it? Just heavily featuring Jay-Z, lololol. @HipHopNumbers on Twitter broke it down:

    Jay Elec
    11 Verses
    2,530 Words & 266 Bars
52% of the words on the album

    Jay-Z
    6 Verses
    1,735 Words (35%) & 186 Bars

    Other Guests/Samples: 13%

Love the whole thing. The only iffy part for me is that first beat on The Blinding, idk why Swizz thought that was a good snare

Should’ve kept that in the vault.

You like the use of the Rihanna sample? It sounds so off to me but the verses are great. Love everything else.

I love that sample. The first time I heard it was on really bad speakers with zero bass and I couldn't even recognize the time signature of the beat or anything I thought the loop starts on every rihanna sound/bass hit, so all verses sounded off to me for a few bars

But then I heard it on headphones and was like it's probably my favorite track on the album now tbh

It’s kinda overbearing after a while and I can’t stand the chorus. Hope it grows on me because the verses are brilliant and hovs delivery is on point.

You know I wasn’t the biggest fan of EA but he really delivered with this one. Outside of No Auto, I love all the songs. Vintage uzi with amazing production and features.
