I never knew wtf the dream did on shiny suit theory. Thought that was a sample singing. That nigga was sounding like a old black woman on that song
jay e with these marvel bars>>
Goddamn this is so different
Elecs verse on the last track is my favorite verse I think
i just finished it. holy s***. this was amazing on the first listen.
last track left me speachless.
after like 6+ listens now i feel like this jay electronica album. the themes, his production, the beats themselves, the songwriting are all him. he’s just as poetic and impassioned, and he sounds so at home on these tracks. And hov complements him perfectly. But i’m only putting hov over jay on shiny suit& flux capacitor. Jay is just too good on these songs. Through and through this is his album and i feel like he gives space to hov when he needs to.
hov and jay’s chemistry is impressive considering how different they are as mc’s
still could’ve done with about 3-4 less hov verses tho
still thirsty for more jay e, happy as f*** tho
This s*** is gonna be blasted the entire weekend. So f***in good
top tracks dude?
Jay Elect sounds off on this. Am I the only one who hears that? He’s trying too hard to give out NOI bars instead of telling his story. Almost sounds like a parody of himself. Usually his flow and lyrics are more poetic and introspective....idk....I f*** with the album as a whole though. Just feel like every leak from Act 2 is a better song than what’s on the album, especially based on Jay Elects lyrics. Lemme see if it’ll grow.
if he really did do this in 40 days with hov i imagine thats part of the reason why. Probably less inclined to drop the more well thought out poetic bars when the energy is much more social. I dont think they're really missing but they're just mixed in with the bragging rights type stuff more
Still a top tier album for me, replayed it a lot already
