people listem to michael jackson prince marvin gaye in 2020 it's called timeless music aka classic grow up

But they’re like widely popular famous singers and s***. Jay E ain’t even popular like that hence I’m surprised

I remember seeing Jay E live at Gov Ball like a year or two ago and he seemed nervous on stage but once he realized the crowd was f***in heavy with it he was in another zone. It was crazy

Last verse on the Blinding... "...just so y'all can pick me apart" You watch interviews way back and he says he's always kinda nervous and self conscious and i forget what song on here but he has a bar or two talking about no direction being taken by wind. I gotta assume he never really had to rap with Rothschild money for a few years and then Im 100$ sure Jay making sure he's straight. That combined with any anxiety makes sense why he quiet the last 10yrs. 3k said similar thing like he doesnt wanna put stuff out because of his legacy and people have all these expectations and s*** and will tear it apart. The best artists are also the most self conscious about their music Ppl made lot of Hov on it but we gotta thankful tbh

That’s true. Andre struggles with the same thing. It’s difficult to be dissected like that. Kendrick Lamar is also like that. He struggles with the fame but he knows his music is needed. I think when. jay Elect realizes how much people he will literally help with his music he will block that noise out. F*** a critic. Do it off the strength. M

bro rapping aint like basketball where u get old and lost athleticism lmao hes been on features through out the years and has dropped singles. You act like he aint rap at all. Every feature hes had as been elite

nah obviously he still got it lyrically but i mean musically. some of this s*** is straight up beautiful

even tho technically it is a collab it feels more like jay electronica assisted by hov. It doesn't feel so much like a true collab project

Fair enough but it is still amazing to get hov on beats like these. It is like he is on a whole different level compared to Everything is Love where he was imo completely outshined by Beyonce. Here he comes in raw with a lot of energy and feels like an essential part or the project not like ur typical featured verse.

Intro is so powerful. Wished he rapped.

exactly. and to think that out of all the people that he originally blew up with, he was the one who people championed as "the savior as hip-hop" and whatnot so i'm sure all the pressure put a strain on him
