Personally I'm just indifferent about whether we keep Pete or not. But I will say, in support of keeping him, sometimes you just hold onto guys for the vibes/fans. Part of the reason why I'm all for bringing back Jose Iglesias.

But if there is better available, and Pete is demanding money on the level of, or more than what's better than him...yeah bud see ya!

You could move around some spots but this is the core I want

That's a huge part of it. Like for the most part, we know what Pete is and how he fits on the team already. But who's to say Bregman isn't gonna deteriorate like a Jason Bay or the countless other free agents we've brought in and underperformed throughout the years

Yeah some of those spots are interchangeable, like Soto and Lindor at 1 and 2 and Nimmo/Marte/Acuña 5-6-7 depending on who's hot/healthy but the length is crazy and even the guys at the bottom like Alvarez and Siri have some power when they make contact

Pitching wise in the market, I like some of the guys available besides just Burnes. I wouldn't mind settling for someone like Nathan Eovaldi or Nick Pivetta and running it back with Sean Manaea

Who do you really think is a better option on the FA market? I get people like Christian Walker but I don’t really think hella better offensively, and he’s idler. I think banking on Pete having a “bounce back” year is worth the risk compared to going the other guy can perform in NY
