I understand why someone like Luke would have an issue with it. From what I understand the promotion was just gonna be a T shirt and some special chicken wings.
It’s pretty weird to have a strip club promotion at a family event. The counter to that argument is obviously gonna be they serve alcohol and promote gambling but it’s not really the same
Yeah a strip club promotion is weird for family friendly entertainment so i understand
But if we really put things under the microscope alcohol & gambling is bad to promote too
& the shoes & gloves made by sweatshop labour is pretty messed up too
& then Miriam Adelson being allowed to purchase the Mavericks even though the NBA acknowledged that she is a sketchy person so they just made the concession that she couldn't be the Governor of the team so that she'd be less public facing
When will there be JESUS NIGHT and NBA ??? 🙏🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️⛪️✝️⛪️⛪️

I think it’s interesting that Gen Z has swapped out alcoholism with sports gambling as their vice of choice
It’s also interesting how puritanical Gen Z is, this is another example of it
NBA has the most overt bop culture in all of sports they be having a designated row you can see on broadcasts but we gonna admonish strippers who actually put in the man hours

not really gen z pushing this tbh

Bro it’s a night named after a strip club

Strip clubs are too normalized. Why tf would basketball need to collab with magic city
Bruh whp cares lmao

The social conservative Christian nationalist s*** that a lot of Gen z does is a LARP. Dudes will preach that s*** and then be a p*** addict and buy onlyfans
These probably thought these niggas were getting too cocky since they allowed weed smoking as part of the new CBA
Just remembered that strippers are how Paul Pierce lost his ESPN job
still wild to think that they put a weed smoking clause in the CBA to make the players happier but the new CBA rules also resulted in billions of lost salary for players due to all the sub superstar contracts being screwed over by the new rules
Kyle Kuzma, Bradley Beal, Jerami Grant & Jordan Poole are probably the last generation bag stealers for the foreseeable future

Idk Christian Braun got 125 million
Idk Christian Braun got 125 million
Over 5 years though & he'll be ~13% of the salary cap, it's not bad imo, he fits the system & is a good defender (will feel worse if Peyton starts to shine even more & if they can't resign Peyton)
The MPJ contract felt way worse for how it impacted their depth
Braun's contract at 25m a year (avg) would be one of the highest paid salaries in the league from 2000-2015 (the dollar number, not adjusted for inflation obviously 25m today is less than it was back then, but 25m is still stupid money)
I feel like there are rules to bag stealing
My rules of Bag Thievery
1: the amount needs to be at least ~20% of the salary cap or higher
2: the player has to be significantly underperforming when compared to other players making a similar amount of money
3 (optional): if the team is a perpetual bottom feeder & they pay you because you put up numbers on a trash team you can be considered as committing Bag Theft (this can come in the Bradley Beal/Dame Lillard variation or the Kyle Kuzma/Jerami Grant variation)
Notes: Patrick Williams is arguably committing theft compared to his level of play but the salary amount isn't egregious enough for consideration
The player fits the system e.g. Braun, concessions can be made to allow for a higher salary using the Team Chemistry/System rule
Pending cases:
Jamal Murray (may be removed from database due to level of play this season)
Paul George: (is arguably the last great bag thief/an under the radar thief as his contract was signed after the new CBA was public, under the 'getting your superstar some help' stipulation)
Jalen Williams: (his reduced level of play after returning from injuries this season has put his contract into the pending Theft category)
This should've been a clever tweet saved for tonight and we could've kept it moving
Note: I am not endorsing what Luke 🌽et thinks

Bag Rejectors (players who take lower salaries to help their team's have depth):
Jalen Brunson: initial people thought he was overpaid (allegations promptly proven false upon arrival with knicks to start his contract), has resigned two more contract extensions both for much less than he is entitled to
Tim Duncan, Manu & Tony: took lower salaries to allow depth, note that this has a technicality to it as Tim Duncan's prime ended much sooner than people acknowledge thus he wasn't actually a max player for many of his later years, although he did re-elevate his level of player in some later years after his initial regression (see 'Chris Paul Late Career Resurgence' phenomenon)
Lebron, Wade & Bosh during their 4 years as the Big 3: took lower salaries to play together
Honourable Mention:
Scottie Pippen: was underpaid for the majority of his later Bulls tenure due to an old contract that 'seemed good at the time'
Bag Fumblers are a separate category, these incude Victor Oladipo, Dennis Schroder (he claims this allegation is false), Montrezl Harrell & Demarcus Cousins
Note:
Isaiah Thomas doesn't count as a fumbler due to his team not offering a proper contract after his playing through injury (see 'Unhonoured Sacrifice' stipulation & 'NBA Faux Loyalty' phenomenon)
(Nested Note: this is in contrast to the 'Honoured Sacrifice' stipulation, see Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant & Kawhi Leonard)
