but im still trying to get into that black sabbath era and find some that clicks - i don’t think it’s more so the singer switch but the music groove

Completely valid point, and one that I’ve heard a lot of people share. I almost think of the Dio years as a different band sometimes bc the sound is a departure from the early stuff. That Heaven and Hell record is one of my favorites though, from the cover all the way down it’s just so good. I see what you mean with the Kiss vibes, I can hear that some as well.

its a polarizing one for sure and the production is weird as hell.

since it has deep purple singer itll probably sound even more kiss-like to you than anything else. i didnt like it at first but it grew on me, it definitely offers something way different than regular ol sabbath though

Yall f*** with that last Sumac record ? P solid especially if you looking for that Isis fix. Its got more of an improvised feel than the ambient atmosphere but the roots are there.
