i love melody so often i like metal that at least has some type of flavor in it between all the grinding and metallic soundin s*** whether that be black sabbath and their kick ass choruses or slipknot having melodic choruses or behemoth just being instrumentally f***ing ridiculous and still inserting melodies amongst the goat blood they smear over all the microphones and mixing board apparently

but i do love when you can hear that rhythm too like patterns even if they’re not distinct notes are almost melodies of their own imo just on a different setting /format

it’s cool it is weird how clear his vocals are though. Were they like that on their last album?

What's your favourite Slayer's album? Reign In Blood as a special place in my heart because it has been one of my first metal albums

Opinions on the new EC? I dig it but imo this is not as special as the first one. That one was just killer in every aspect

yea they were p clear if I remember right. Middle aged metal is always hit or miss but that production sounds decent.

Reign in Blood is one of the most iconic metal albums and for good reason, although some days I prefer South of Heaven.

Yeah bro, South Of Heaven got that creepy vibe. While Reign is a f***ing punch in the head, South is something evil ready to sneak on you lol

Lately I've been bumpin a lot of trad doom

Seasons in the Abyss is another one of my faves from them. I love the vibe on SOH, it really is creepy, but Reign is such a masterpiece.

I haven’t really listened to much metal lately, feeling outta the loop

What you listening to? I've been driving a lot because my job is far from home and in the morning I listen to calm stuff like italian songwriters or Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, while when coming back I'm blasting fun, riffy stuff like Thin Lizzy, trad doom, Maiden, Angel Witch, or old school hip hop with lots of samples

One of my favourites, Franco Battiato. Italian goat. Started his career making avantgarde electronic s***, then went pop with lyrics about occult stuff, oriental esoterism, philosophy and then started doing whatever he felt like. He even composed classical. Great musician

I will check that out, sounds very interesting.

I’ve just had to work more lately, and I work in an environment where I can play music so it’s been mostly just mainstream rap and pop s*** during my work days and when I’ve been home I’ve been jamming a lot of Gucci, Jeezy, Project Pat, Three 6, Master P.. lol just a lot of southern s***. Some Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, The Cure, i been all over the place.
