i need to find more slower death metal

the fast s*** is cool but the slow cathartic slabs with the hard ass drums hits on another level

yeah i like that their riffs are melodic like NWOBHM sort of stuff but without leaning too far into the "melodic death metal" type of bands. too bad about the lyrical content of course lol

I feel like I’m terrible at recommendations but here’s a few that slow it down once in a while. If you like Incantation then just look up cavernous death metal and you’ll find plenty more like that.

    Have you checked out Asphyx?

    Gorguts?

    Incantation?

Oh bro if you like this then peep funeral doom, I feel like it’d be up your alley.

that Ashpyx album is what comes to mind for me when i think of that style less cavernous maybe but still slower and the guitar tone+vocals make it SO f***ing heavy

That album is so well done. They just give the vocals some space and you’re right, those guitars just crush you with it.

Turn this album up one time for a metalhead who passed away this week and loved this album.

They definitely have an interesting approach. I don’t listen to a ton of bm, but I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve heard from their discography.
