Entombed took off in the early 90s right around the same time as Pantera, but I couldn’t say for sure. I hear what you mean though, they’ve got that same type of groove going.

Definitely their best release, so many amazing riffs and melodies, could go on and on about how amazing it is. Seen them live twice and they’re so good, absolutely love Periphery.
