It's incredible how, even though metal has reached more and more extremity levels through the years, Slayer's classic albums are still lowkey some of the most violent music ever. I don't know if they way I'm phrasing it makes sense

I get what you’re saying and I completely agree. They just did it so well, truly talented musicians. I feel the same about Bolt Thrower as well, they just created that perfectly loud and angry wall of sound that just blows you away.

Violent is the perfect was to describe Slayer's music haha I remember reading somewhere that Hannaman and King's solos sound like victims and Arya definitely sounds psychotic

listening to them as i clicked the thread

the part at 2:25 where it speeds back up
the first 3 have become my solidified top 3 from them tbh. south of heaven and seasons in the abyss are great too ofc but a small step below. i should probably check out some of the later albums one day
side note, South of Heaven title track never did much for me tbh even though i know its a common favorite

It’s that hypnotic intro riffing in SOH. It just gets me every single time. Then Dave Lombardo starts drumming.. man

Dave’s drumming is lowkey my fav part of Slayer. Man is an animal on those kits.

Masturbate to kill myself
