I got a very random casting call that said something about a kanye west fashion show, TOMORROW. Said yes immediately..

I report to MSG at like 10pm and sure enough a bunch of black ppl in are getting filed into the arena. We’re just floating through a bunch of rooms in MSG for a while. Some ppl get sent home, I get pulled in. They take measurements and then they just send us to the 100 level to chill for a few hours, dk why. Think we had some snacks and s***. But sitting in MSG at like midnight, basically all the power off -- was some special s*** by itself.

Eventually music starts playing, unfamiliar tracks but definitely Kanye -- all of us eventually deduce it’s the f***ing album. A few mins later we see someone in the seats on the other side of the arena dancing crazy. Then he makes his way, through the seats, over to us and as he gets closer we realize it’s f***ing HIM. I’ll never forget this image… he just jumps into the mob of ppl and dances with us for a few minutes. Then leaves. We get sent home after.

Have to report back to MSG early next morning. They bussed us out to Jersey to a giant warehouse with mountains of generic yeezy-esque clothes. Everyone gets styled and sent back to the bus. My fit was f***ing crazy. I wanted to steal it. Then, costumed up, we get driven back to MSG.

They load us directly onto the MSG floor where we are told to just chill. Our only instructions are basically, when the show begins, we have to remain as still as possible through the entirety of the album. Like statues. I wasn’t on the stage thing but I was in the crowd on the ground.

They cover us in the sheet before any of the audience gets let in. Literally just siting there under a sheet for hours. But we start to hear ppl and s***. Ultralight Beam starts and the sheet gets pulled to reveal all of us as the song ends. it’s the first time we see we are completely surrounded by screaming people. Insane energy. People are losing their minds at this point.

The concert/listening party is crazy. I'm right by Kim and s***. Bunch of celebs front row just staring at us lol.

No one wants to stand still for the entire s*** so eventually ppl sit, lean, etc. A rogue group ended up rushing the stage thing in the center. Def wasn’t supposed to happen but production ran with it. I wanted to join in but it was too far.

I’m in the video in OP somewhere I gotta find it again. Truly one of the most wild, random, only in NYC days of my life.

Great read. Reminds younger posters that there was a time where he truly was "HIM" before "him" became a thing. This might've been his last hurrah in the limelight

FSMH was a massive track... along with a few others.

because of this thread i've listened like 4x in the past few days. s***'s amazing.

I sometimes fade off of Ye and think that he’s not my goat. Then I circle back. No one comes close.

I didn’t have a job at that point I was like barely 15 and I remember having to barter “I’ll clean the entire house top to bottom!!!” With my dad to go out and get me an iTunes card to get a tidal sub knowing it was out right after SNL and not being able to listen for like 12 hours was like a crack withdrawal
