Why niggas holding that against you 7 years later
Because thats their way of "winning" an argument

racism obviously isn't dead, but you'd be hard pressed to find a way that our current society holds people down due to their race in by legal means, never mind blaming in on capitalism in 2021.
Presently, I do think that black people have to take some blame for the position that they are in currently. Black people as a whole were on an upward trajectory as far as socioeconomic status even under Jim Crow, before many values that got them there went out the window (i.e., nuclear family structure being a big one)
It is important to acknowledge how racism has gotten black people as a whole to their current position, but also important to acknowledge what has come from oppression and what has come from culture/choices. I mentioned this in a reply to synopsis, but Asian-Americans are a prime example of how culture/choices can lift a group out of oppression and into success in only a few generations.
holy mother of f*** you are braindead and should be banned for unironically using the culture argument

at first i thought u were trolling but i don't see ur anger as unfounded at all
it is a weird paradox to be in where if you want to push back against capitalism i see only two ways:
1 Leverage power (political, capital) and try to amass enough support for systemic change while having to push against the entire system
or
2 Have a large enough force to convince the government to submit
this is something i dont know exactly what can be done about myself and have thought about it a lot. in the first case you need to invest yourself into capitalism and f*** other people in order to amass the power to enact change. on the other hand in something like a "revolution" the people who will suffer the most are the people without anything.
All this to say i dont kno the answer but i get ur frustration i dont think ur trolling
thanks for putting words in my mouth lol

Asian-Americans weren't enslaved in this country. That's what many forget when they try to make this argument. Many come from immigrants whose parents came to this country long after a lot of america's anti-racism laws were passed and came with the sole purpose of their children having better opportunity here.
Black people on the other hand are dealing with the effects of centuries of racial neglect. Jim Crow didn't end until, what, 1965? That's not even a life time ago. There are people alive today whose parents or grandparents had thier economic opportunity capped due to blatant racism, not mention how much worse it was for their parents before them.
Sure there's more opportunity than ever before, but capitalism makes it extremely difficult for those to climb out of poverty while on the flip side it's much easier to make money if you're already wealthy. Schools with low budget are in poor communities. High crime rates are in poor communities. Vast majority of black people are in, you guessed it poor communities. It's crazy that people blame black people as being irresponsible when the deck is already stacked against from birth. You wouldn't want your child growing up in the hood not because you'd view you're parenting as irresponsible, but because the outside influences will be tough to overcome when compared to else where not to mention the poor education on top of that.
personally if i was brit i would be very upset how labour party is going they going on some bullshit
