Also, Bernie had the second most black support on Super Tuesday. Jim Clyburn's support decided that election before a vote was cast. It's largely a patronage system. A lot riskier for black democrats to gamble than white ones. Half of eligible black voters didn't even vote.

They also makeup a big part of dem voterbase while still being underrepresented after casting votes. Their support is more decisive in primaries than general elections. A failure for Bernie to activate the 30+ % of the country that doesn't vote is more an issue than courting machine politic constituents.
