The Late Show with #StephenColbert is set to end - for good - on May 21, 2026, Colbert revealed during a Monday taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers. (The episode will air tonight.)

After 33 years on #CBS airwaves in the 11:30 p.m. time slot, the show started by #DavidLetterman is hanging up its hat.

CBS claims this is a purely financial decision even though Colbert is the most watched of all late night talk shows. The initial decision followed the merger between Paramount and Skydance in which Trump had to sign off on, and just coincidentally one of the loudest voices against Trump was removed from television.
