Good show but the writing is better in the games imo. The dialogue just feels more natural

believe it or not, its possible to think the show is moving really fast while also not wanting Ellie and Dina to be wandering around room to room like a video game... its almost like this show has professional writers whos job it is to connect dots and adapt plots from the source material to TV, Nobody is asking for full episodes of them aimlessly exploring while nothing is happening, to think thats what we're saying is just engaging in this conversation in totally bad faith lol

is the show really THAT awful? I don't watch it(i played the games though).
But i came across a reddit thread on the show on The Last Of Us subreddit. And jesus christ they DO NOT like Bella Ramsey AT ALL.

The thread is them responding to a review that praised Bella Ramsey, and it is nothing but them lambasting the review, and mass downvoting anybody who says anything kind about her performance.

I'm just finding it difficult to believe that Bella Ramsey and the show itself is THAT awful, so i came here.

There is a subreddit called lewdlastofus or something where men love watching Ellie related p*** the same ones are trashing this one just think about that for a second. Seperate the game and the tv ADAPTATION and you may like it although i do agree the dialogue is written better in the game then the series so far ..

I have no interest in watching the show, since i imagine its all pretty similar to the games, and i already played those twice.
Has nothing to do with the Quality of the show though.

I just came here cause I thought the sheer amount of hate she's getting was kinda gross. Like jeez, youd think she had murdered someone

The game has definitely more confident writing, mazin thinks tv audiences are dumb asf (which makes kinda shocking that he went all the way with the boldest parts of the second game)

this adaptation just doesn’t feel right man

It’s very distracting visually. The Last of Us Part II is supposed to be grimey as hell and it’s lowkey pissing me off to see Bella and Isabel looking super fresh in almost every scene like they’re about to go to the state fair They’re supposed to be stained in dirt and blood, man lol

My second biggest gripe is some of the character work/dialogue. I don’t think they’re doing the best job selling Ellie’s bloodthirst. I understand this is a tv show and they can’t have 1:1 levels of violence but I feel like they haven’t even begun to portray her as half the killing machine she’s supposed to be at this point.

And everybody is just too expository. It feels really unnatural how direct the characters are, outright explaining their motivations or other things that would reveal themselves organically if the show had a little more trust in the audience. That conversation with Nora was egregious.

I’m pretty disappointed so far.

I already know the game is great and I don't need convincing to play but this was the first episode that made me wanna play the game for some reason

I’m not gonna go and generalize 100% of haters are weird and gross.

Most have fair criticism . Played both games and I don’t see myself ever watching this tbh

Honestly all of the blame is on the casting people.

Bella wouldn’t have even gotten hate at all of the casting people actually did their jobs correctly , and Bella’s an average actor if we’re being real

I get it, she was compartmentalising her rage and anger up until the end of the episode when her vengeance mission began to really take shape and it flipped like a light switch. The mask slipped and that Ellie at the end is who she really has been the whole time since Joel died.

Imagine watching or listening or playing something you hate just to speak to people who don’t know who you are about how much you don’t like something.

Life’s too short. If you don’t like plenty of other stuff you can do.
