One of the funniest posts ever (MAJOR SPOILERS)
From the few reviews I read, episode 4 and 6 are season best but finale the clunkiest (they mentioned the abrupt ending as an issue tho)

They can't even understand that Ellie doesn't say anything to the therapist and that she's actually lying and hiding everything
Is not only that they dislike everything that deviates even slightly from the game... they also have no media literacy

I saw that tweet and other complaints about it before seeing the ep and expected a forced ‘what’s Ellie thinking at this point in the story’ exposition therapy checkpoint for dumb tv audiences
But yeah you’re exactly right. She’s sharp, insincere, guarded and dismissive to the therapist just like the game version would be. It also isn’t like she went to seek the therapist out, she was surprised in the hospital room by her.
‘Video game ellie wouldn’t talk about things to a therapist’ this one didn’t either
It’s like they’re just barely even listening to the words coming out of the characters mouths as soon as there is a scene not from the game
Tv got Dina, Tommy and Jesse over the game version as it stands. I can see Issac being better here too since it’ll basically be the same thing but more

episode 1 did they really have to start it off with a zoomed in shot of this ugly ass girl
next episode we are probably gonna get take on me

People don't understand what an adaption is, I found the threapist s*** from the rip kinda goofy at first, given the sense the threapist is just as f***ed up as everyone else and accepts payments in weed and booze.
But I kinda dig it now just a bit, I just look at it more of an expansion of the story than we got in the game.

'Nose Girl'
The criticism he got and then him deleting his account from the backlash
Bella Ramsey is putting on an acting clinic. I'm starting to think we're watching two completely different shows with the raging mob
That 'raging mob' are the loser gamers who hate on everything ND related nowadays
You're normal
My biggest problem this season is how they’re handling Ellie and Dina.
They had an interesting opportunity to establish them 3 months deep into their romance when introducing the new timeframe. But instead, they removed some of their intimate moments already from the games shorter timeline, and now we’re in Seattle and they’re still havnt really established their romance at all. They’ve opted for adding more time, but less romance (cause they’ve also removed stuff like them alone in the weed basement). This is a massive fumble for me tbh.
Their romance increases stakes, but I also just think Dina being so invested in joining the mission makes more sense when their romance is established. I’m also not a fan at all of Dina going out of her way in 2 instances of dialogue now to point out “youre gay, I’m not”— not really sure what swerve they’re trying to pull off here, but it isn’t working for me,
Still love the show, still think they’re mostly doing a great job. But this is probably the biggest fumble for me since season 1.

Well, considering the world as they knew it ended in 2003, it could be that Dina doesn't know how to process what she really feels. That internal wrestling manifests in different external ways, and in the case of Dina, it's very realistic to be wishy washy for a number of closeted folks.
You can see her internal struggle in that very same scene with her trying to protect herself "You're gay, im not" and also the closing remarks where she goes "I wasn't that high."

Wtf is this take... they obviously building up their romance to create a "are they gonna date or not" dynamic instead of them already dating and having no tension

Yeah I get the idea that she’s closeted and could be wrestling with her own sexuality. But I think there is a way where Dina is navigating and learning that, where they’re also just more of an established romance than they are right now.
Like, the decision to send them on patrol with a group instead of alone— in retrospect, all this did was hinder opportunity for those two to hit it off. The group they were with basically served zero purpose. Was it worth removing key romance beats between them just to have them rebel against the rest of the patrol people they were with? I’d argue no.
I trust they will establish the romance and it’ll be fine, I just think the decision to extent both the timeline AND remove some relationship beats between the 2 of them is quite odd and not totally working for me
