tbh I think they will keep him alive for a couple episodes. but yea he probably knows he won’t survive long in season 2 and that’s why he is dedicating most of his time to other projects

Yea 3 episodes maximum would be ideal. I think they are going to take some time and get the audience comfortable again with the Joel and Ellie dynamic before they decide to pull the rug from under their feet. I’d imagine they want that big moment to REALLY hit hard

I’d say he’d stick around the whole season, just sprinkled throughout like the game. The flashbacks could be their own episodes tbh. There’s ways to make it work even with Joel dying early on to start Ellie’s journey. It wouldn’t be as powerful if he just is in one ep then gone rest of season

Joel and Tommy gotta have their talk. We gotta be introduced to Dina and Jessie, see the updated version of Jackson, Joel sings for Ellie, Ellie and Dina have to go on their patrol and sleep together, we gotta see Abby sneak over to Jackson and fight off infected. And I’m sure the writers will also write in extra dialogue that weren’t in the game
There’s enough there to maybe kill him at the end of episode 2

Yea I mean I think he’ll die pretty early on in the season , but they’ll definitely film flashback scenes with him as well. The flashback scenes hit so hard because of the fact Joel is no longer alive, so I’d be really surprised if we don’t get flashbacks throughout this season
But also we gotta keep in mind that Part 2 is being stretched across 2 seasons, so we probably won’t get all of the Joel flashbacks this season
