I think front load some of those flashbacks there is no reason to have Tommy sniping or Joel bloater flashback later in show . Joel lying wait a bit I guess but hope show sticks to the death by not continuously bringing him back in flashbacks

I think each episode may have 1 Joel flashback? I definitely think they’ll show the museum one. And the sniping one probably. Any they can tie into Ellie’s story

I don’t think they can rely on him heavily without compromising a lot. I do think the beginning of the game with Joel and Tommy may be longer though

too much context clues especially when some dumbass will respond to you or someone else with “ Ellie on a revenge journey “. Like it’s not just about accounting for you it’s about too many hints . They already know from some interviews podcast that we will see more perspectives and action .

if each episode has a flashback to a dead man he might as well be alive .this the same issue I had with jor el dying in man of steel then coming back as a hologram or pa Kent ghost . There is a logically reason to withhold the final flashback at end of game there is no logical reason to hold back the others . The goal isn’t as much to make the player be fueled by revenge or to see Ellie is a terrible person they are just watching her . In short some of what worked in the game to convey empathy , revenge forgiveness won’t work in same order on a tv show and nothing would stop a viewer from saying “ F\*\*\* these Abby episodes I will come back for finale “ . Lmfao

I think for me the main reason why they’d keep it the same is most of those moments are crucial to Ellie’s feelings. It really felt like she was feeling confusion the entire time she was in Seattle. IIRC she is basically not talking to Joel bc she finds out the truth of the first game, and while she is deciding what to do he dies. So she is actively reliving through those moments through her grief, trying to figure out how she feels. The need for revenge felt driven by her frustration over not being able to get a decision about Joel and losing her ability to choose for the second time, as it was about avenging his death.

I think whatever they do will be good though
