Cyberpunk arcane
I like this miles better than those two come at me
i thought it was cool and i enjoyed watching it. bella and pedro were really good in here which made me wanna keep watching but at the end i kinda feel meh about it.
i heard they trynna make the “part 2” of the show more than one season so maybe they just wanted to please the fans and make sure they got things right before taking more risks and expanding things?
No comment lol

You a last of us Stan so I’m not shocked
league of legends is just a game that makes me bored not a board game so arcane doesnt count
What kinda sucks about video game adaptations (unless the movie is creating its own original story) is that it’s almost impossible not to get spoiled.
My mom and sister have never touched the games but already know about time jump & Joel dying I never played part 2 and even not clicking spoiler tags I was able to infer what happens in part 2 and about who Abby is
I think this first season should’ve been at least 12 or 13 episodes to let this story breathe and give more time with the characters. I never really bought into or cared about Joel & Ellie’s relationship this entire season in the same way that the game makes you care about them.
I can’t help but feel like this show in its’ current state would be getting little to no attention and praise if it was an original IP. Outside of a few episodes, nothing really stuck or had any true weight to it and the whole thing overall felt really rushed
Hbo hasn’t had a season over 10 episodes since 2012

I’m just saying 9 episodes wouldn’t have been too much of an issue if 3 of those episodes weren’t devoid of the two main characters developing their relationship

I was talking with my brother, who has been a fan since the first game came out, and this was the biggest thing for both of us. The relationship they want us to think they have isn’t earned. There have been shallow and overt moments where the bond is strengthened, but there’s no nuance or subtlety to it.
Even the final scene - almost word for word taken from the game - compare it to the cutscene. There’s so much more emotion in literal polygons than there is on the show. I just don’t believe it as much.
I also don’t think they have done enough to warrant Ellie’s actions in the next game. Joel obviously cares for her, the finale was beating us down with dialogue to enforce that. But there hasn’t been much from her in the show.
I also said this previously but try to imagine Joel getting his head caved in with a golf club while Ellie is being held down, forced to watch, with the tone the show has had throughout this season. I can’t. It just wouldn’t fit.
If there’s any example that sums up what I think the show did wrong, it’s putting sad music over Joel shooting up the hospital.
It’s not a bad series, I’d give it a 6.5/10, but it doesn’t live up to the game for me.

That’s supposed to be a Negan-level moment of brutality but like you said I just can’t picture THIS show doing anything that brutal, nor would I buy THIS version of Ellie going on a revenge fueled rampage because of that. The relationship just wasn’t developed enough on screen.
It’s definitely not a bad series overall, and I’d agree with the claim that it’s the best video game adaptation ever (the bar has been below the floor for three decades now), but if this wasn’t based off of an already existing and beloved IP I can’t help but to think it would get forgotten as just another mediocre apocalypse show
