Marlene was only shown as comically evil in one moment but overall they did well by her

Yeah but in game 2 it was very clear they already wanted to be able to focus on other characters and other stories

And abbey’s story was better than ellie’s anyway, I don’t think they will shoehorn Ellie into a 3rd game unless they can write something that actually makes sense

These aren’t amateur writers lol they’ve been able to tell 2 of the most amazing stories in gaming thus far

They wrote them to die, so of course they weren’t going to be As compelling. Most of the first game side chatacters were made to teach and show Ellie aspects of the world. 2’s were kinda just there as abbey’s friends mostly. And some were ellie and Tommy’s friends but served little purpose outside of that

im a believer that they will make a good game. If they make up some stupid story that’s lame just for the sake of including Ellie, yeah, that’d be wack. But I believe whatever awesome place they take it won’t need to focus on older characters just because they exist
