I got 10 seconds in and was like "they come across as douche bros I don't need more"
Yeah they are much more likeable when they’re talking about video games
still surreal to me that my dad is gonna experience the last of us and doesnt know how to use a controller
Same lol. I had my moms watching it and she was super curious about what happens next and she jokingly asked me to play the game so she could see what happens
My girlfriend tapped in with it. My uncle even. S*** is crazy. Everyone loving it

my dad took me to pick up my copy a day early and I told him he’d love it because he was a big fan of the walking dead at the time
10 years later and he’s waiting for the last episode to binge it off my recommendation
90 min for Bill and Frank, 45 min for finale.
90 minutes for peak
45 minutes for more peak
All peak
Ep 8 was rushed bro.
Episode 8. Peak
Kr0niic at the mention of TLOU:

Unironically
Sometimes it works well but there are some scenes where the “verbatim from the games” lines don’t work that well.
I thought the scene where Ellie meets David was awkward not because of anybody’s acting but because the lines were kind of off.
But then the scene in the house between Ellie and Joel worked great so
I dunno there’s just some parts that don’t fit as well
i was so angry they didnt show joel going ham on that other dude, then ellie did what ellie did
I know you were watching it all for the first time you think you are going to play it after?
Oh yeah for sure, I'm excited to experience the game. One thing I'm still kinda undecided about is whether I'm gonna play TLOU2 before the second season airs..... I really like being surprised by the show, but idk if I can avoid spoilers for however long it takes them to make the second season

“The Last of Us” has already been renewed, and Mazin is weeks away from starting to write scripts for Season 2 with Mr. Druckmann.

Interesting article of how Craig went from scary movie and such to chernobyl.
And how HBO didnt want to make TLOU because it was a "video game adaption" and only approved to because craig was fully behind it and they give their creators a blank check to make their next series if their first series was a hit
Bloys did not play video games, and he was plenty familiar with Hollywood's checkered history with adapting them. But there was a tradition at HBO in which writers who create a successful project are allowed to do whatever they want for their next one, no matter how different: Alan Ball went from "Six Feet Under" to "True Blood"; Mike White from "Enlightened" to "The White Lotus"; Michael Patrick King from "Sex and the City" to "The Comeback."

You won’t be able to avoid spoilers( gamers are terrible about not spoiling ) and they definitely will change some things from game 2 story / plot and gameplay beats

Voice acting in the game damn near perfect. I don't expect it to come close, tbh.

I keep getting clips from the game in my YouTube recommended and luckily it hasn't spoiled anything yet but I know it's inevitable.............

Get through 1 and play 2 tbh. Story hits very hard without spoilers

I just feel Joel is gonna die and it would impact me so much more with Pedro vs. the game Joel but you're right I should just play it and find out

Just play them . 2 I got spoiled on years ago and with spoilers it doesn’t hit like that for me ( in my opinion. ) .Also I feel different about 1’s ending then many people. Playing 1 , left behind and 2 back to back after season ends may be best move . Again show will make changes and cut gameplay parts just as this season did

@kingofsorrow this my guess as to why feels off . Voice acting mocap and gameplay portions . Medium definitely part of the message for me . I mean also removing them working together to defeat infected and stay alive . With instead she is instantly kind of friendly or joking with David . While I understand the decision and Troy talked about it in the podcast . It didn’t work for me after seeing 7 episodes of her developing her connection with Joel , distrust and disconnect from others she quick with friendly conversation. David and James giving Joel correct penicillin when they know he killed Alec. You kind of just give it to them plot and writing wise
