As far as lack of realism you have episode 3, in which there’s only one raider attack in 20 years, in which Bill stands in the MIDDLE OF THE STREET shooting at the raiders. Then you have the scene where Joel is showing Ellie how to use a gun, and Ellie points the gun at Joel and he does not correct her, no irl gun owner would do this. Thirdly, they live in a world where infected and murderous humans are possibly around anywhere you go, yet Ellie is running around screaming and fooling around in the underground tunnels.
As far as casting, Joel and Ellie are great, but a lot of the side characters are, uhhh… not the easiest to look at, which is fine I guess but really weird for a show with such high production values
This is a top tier dogshit post.
There could’ve been more than one attack but just not shown. Not that confusing. The gun thing is a non issue. They said the underground tunnels are clear. They were.

who said that was the only attack in 20 years? that’s just the only one they happened to include in the episode, seeing that we only have 60 minutes…

O no I was giving you reasons why this specific episode was being praised so much , because you weren’t sure why people liked it a lot
Also do you mean the side character’s wardrobe is bad or something ? Lol
Are you saying the side characters are ugly ??
Or are you just saying the side characters have bad acting
"Everyone should look f***able in an apocalypse"
Wait is he really saying that the side characters are ugly ??
Wait is he really saying that the side characters are ugly ??
Exactly what he's saying
This thread is absolute dog s***

Gun thing is not a non issue at all, Joel would know basic gun safety, it’s immersion breaking

If there were other attacks they shouldn’t have survived those unscathed
If there were other attacks they shouldn’t have survived those unscathed
Why not ? Bill had traps and barriers everywhere
I just know that old indigenous couple 'bout to get f\*\*\*ed up when Abby and her team comes around at the start of next season.. :jordamused:
While I'm enjoying it, I feel like there's just something missing - both in the violence and emotionally.
Joel taking on those raiders gets watered down to him snapping ones neck and getting a random shiv. Him deciding to go with Ellie felt very rushed and the dialogue didn't hit the same.
we should see it again but since they are lowering action and combat its possible we dont
the writing and precious drama isn’t good enough to have no action.
I’m starting to believe this statement is just as subjective as music taste nowadays .
Certainly subjective, no doubt. But honestly, not even hating (which I am officially a hater of this show), it ain’t good.
Well to be fair everyone itt gasses TLOU like it’s True Detective or Better Call Saul. It’s a good show but I’m surprised everyone is lauding this episode in particular
I’m saying… this s*** is mad average and just cuz ppl played the game 10 years ago and it’s accurate to that… don’t make it good.
This show just isn’t THAT engrossing.

This…
It’s just not good.

Yeah emotionally the show is strong as the game. Action wise it's a lil okay
I only really liked episode 1 and 5 action scenes.
