Yeah the line delivery often doesnt land and I just find her annoying more than anything. Shes not a bad actress and has some good moments but overall it just doesnt work.

Joel is decent but still pales in comparison to the game. I think those characters are just too burned into my brain for me to appreciate what theyre doing here haha.

I often hate kids in shows/movies like this but I like show ellie. Some lines come off flat but I don't find myself wishing she was dead lol

i wouldn’t be surprised if in the show at the end we don’t even get the part he gets escorted out. He just wakes up goes to see ellie and then starts knocking out or killing the people in the room alone

For me show Joel line delivery even on brand new lines just feels off. Facial expression doesn't compare. Show Ellie kind of just previewing upcoming Ellie so their connection is different and she more violent. The game we see their faces with the expensive mocap expressive but we are primarily seeing their faces in cutscenes. Here there are some moments when I don't need to see their faces where I am being shown their faces and sometimes they kind of just looking at me

This is my guess for me personally. In short yes I know you paid for star power but its okay to do third person or some various camera angles . Don't need to see their facial reactions to everything
