they do black characters dirty . Sam and Henry they did justice for the most part though

Marlene is central to the ending landing and hitting as are the fireflies to the future of the show. Kathleen giving joker monologues and talking about her brother all with an air of condescension and dying like a movie villain by the exact thing she taunted. Its not irrational that I think they should show more Marlene the actress from the game who did a great performance in episode 1 and knows Ellie and knew Ellie before Joel and like Joel has to make that difficult decision about their child

Even if she is just in the finale it needs to hit. They are both parents of Ellie in a way like a divorced couple deciding what to do with her. Joel on the side of wake her up this isn't the move she is more than just Cargo now. When the story started Marlene gave her the chicken sandwich because she cared more too. So it would just be a solid way to end out the show with the two people arguably closest to Ellie in this world unsure of what to do with her. To me that adds a lot more to the ending than Kathleen. I only mention them in comparison because Kathleens actress made it about her being a woman after first episode when this episode included ( I let them cook and had been saying let them cook). She came off as too comic villain saying that monologue and smirking after having people , doctors and kids mass murdered in name of her brother .

This only really works if years down the line he isn't just like my name is Joel. I am saying show that Marlene cares more about a cure than Ellie's life distinctly in the final episode. Which in some degrees they do in the game but its a tough decision. Just sell me on Joel brutally murdering Marlene if you are going to do it while she is crawling on the ground no weapon bleeding out

I am saying if you are going to kill her and make the final decision of murdering doctors and her seem grey why wouldn't you show her as a human being when you paid for the actress. Much of part 2's entire focus went to the doctor when you murdered the black woman leader of the fireflies who are like the only resistance group where even if they didn't have a cure (cause chances were low and that wasn't their only goal) there were other ramifications of the fireflies all getting brutally murdered that could be explored . That is all I am saying

you guys keep saying "shes just playing the role she had in the game" when I am saying why is she just playing the role she got in the game but we get a made up character of kathleen that doesnt even land . Are you guys not reading and grasping that or what? Some of the recordings Marlene gives is all I am asking for not a full Marlene backstory how she was born and her saying "this is fate the child was meant to die " :deadfast:

I thought the fake out would be that her blood at least delayed the transformation process of Henry some. Hinting that her blood could work. Thought she was going to open it like she did the infected earlier in season with knife and put some of her blood in the cut and it would react like it was healing. Still went cool though

The whole "I could have saved the world" angle never worked for me cause the Fireflies sucked and the odds of a cure/distribution were so scuffed anyway. Their great hospital was a s\*\*\*ty decaying building with loads of dead bodies of other "immune" kids. Looks like theyre gonna go heavier on that though. F\*\*\* Marlene, f\*\*\* the Fireflies, f\*\*\* Abby's dad. Joel was right.
