I’m not saying anything you guys are saying is invalid . If the show showed gore to the extent of the game and brutally killing humans Joel’s mental health wouldn’t make sense . No part of the ending would hit the same or any moment of levity if he brutally murdered someone before it . We allow it in a game because it’s a game we don’t get ptsd more kills we get or unsettled we just kill and reload . Now if you want to talk about how gore or less killing affects the story to you I get that
Why wouldn't his mental health make sense? He's clearly already shown signs of PTSD and in a post apocalyptical environment his mental health could be far worse.
This 20 years after the fact too, Joel has been living in a state of survival, he's been killing people, unable to trust those around him, etc. For YEARS.
Ultimately what are humans known for throughout history, our adaptability, even in the worst of times. The worst of battles, etc, people adapt in order to survive and that sums up Joel and how's he's made it this far in a world that most people aren't making it to Joel's age as is.

Y’all want him to kill 100+ human beings as they scream their names and 20-50 infected while joking with Ellie about poop?
I mean there is no fail state to the show . I just think the angles of that scene could have been more stressful or tension. They definitely should have them get damaged and need a med kit
I meant joel slicing one of the ambush guys neck like in the game
A 50+ year old man murdering 20 year olds while taking 0 damage charismatic and not even in crazy good health
I meant joel slicing one of the ambush guys neck like in the game
Did violence make the game to you or the story or do you think the violence is key to the story ?
What is it with this series causing the most heated arguments for no reason
The last of us as I say, brings out the worst of us

the show is way lamer than the game

They crave the violence Neil’s lesson failed he made violence too cool

This is a post apocalyptic environment with tons of wackos, infected, and just overall bad people
You're being very disingenuous if you think he's only going to kill 5 people or monster infected things in a season? What exactly are you expecting because that sounds incredibly unrealistic to the environment the state of the world we're seeing is in

This show isn’t about realism at all . If I look at it from a realism angle there are a million things to pick at
teen wolf > succession if we keeping it 100
So I shouldn’t start succession
This show isn’t about realism at all . If I look at it from a realism angle there are a million things to pick at
Then why'd you even bring up killing a 100 humans as unrealistic
I’m all for Joel brutally murdering more people but on a basic level you must understand how season 1 and in general they wanted to show less violence which to SOME was a lot in the game or at times unnecessary for the story or redundant

There are not many violent moments in tlou so it makes sense to show em

They are picking and choosing throughout the show which realistic and unrealistic elements to embrace . As we discussed with episode 3 .
This thread is cooked man

First tlou 1 is the most violent game only next to gow3 by one user. Now it doesn’t have many violent moments
This thread hilarious
