His explanation in the article is pretty good though. It would be boring every episode just seeing them fight random dudes. Would have a walking dead feel where the zombies were almost irrelevant and not a threat unless in a horde of like 100+

I think people will misinterpret what they're saying tbh

The show will still have those memorable violent moments from the game, but entire show won't be a constant blood bath like the games are.
So then the violent moments will stand out more and be more potent when they do happen

Constant violence will desensitize the audience to seeing it, and people won't be as shocked by the big violent moments of the show

Honestly these are all welcome changes

this wouldn't really break "the curse" to me because again Last of Us itself as a game is based on movie stories. I get what they are saying though and I am all for it but Last of Us 1 itself melds game and movie in terms of what you expect of story wise

lol there is no hate in that at all. The gaming curse often comes from adapting stories that would make no sense in live action same as anime adaptations. We can truthfully say this is the first game being adapted with a down to earth story and nothing hugely surreal or game like. Otherwise maybe Tomb Raider, Resident Evil but both of those not enough of a hook or effort made.

I am saying even if this gets straight 100s this wouldn't end the curse because most game stories aren't getting adapted or attempted

All I know of Chernobyl is that it’s based on a real historical event and that setting up the vibes for what I know about TLOU is terrifying
