I am not some xbox fanboy I dont own an xbox. I just think if Xbox fails (its looking grim) that a lot of studios will close and a lot (more ) than already are will get laid off in games industry. So I can't root for their destruction no matter how dumb they often move. Because once Xbox goes its f***ed
Xbox not gonna fail. Gamepass too solid rn to let that happen. Maybe less focus on a the system and more on the software to sell everywhere is a possible route

Off topic I know but the amount of employees they are firing while making profits to me is a sense of failure. Lack of delivering out some major games is failure. Focus on acquisition is okay but not if you are squandering or not seeing results from acquisitions and new studios. Gamepass is solid and genius now and saved them from shutting down but eventually they may have to raise the price but to do so with a straight face they have to deliver more
Wow they topped the first episode
And with all this talk about episode 3 man I can’t wait
This was me when Joel gave Tess a boost up to a high spot like in the game

How they handled Tess being bitten felt very rushed again. Like they should have shown her struggled with a clicker or something.
Nah would’ve taken away from the surprise. Sure we know what happens but first time viewers have no idea
Meh I wasnt really attached to this Tess anyway
yeah this more the thing for me
How are they making a solid video game adaptation
AND changing lore (kiss of death for many adaptations)
AND inventing new story elements (kiss of death for many adaptations)
And it’s all working
Like I loveee some of the new stuff a lot
I wonder if the the talk show / jakarta thing / Sarah getting the watch, the convo with the watchmaker etc from last week / other new things are actual canon like ‘these happened in the game world too but we just didn’t show it’ or if they’re just for the tv universe
Bc I kinda wanna keep these things
“Kiss of death”
This is what they did to the camera operators before yelling action

s*** is so disorienting
The misdirection with Tess ankle but she actually was bit on her shoulder was nice. I can’t remember if that was in the game?
Really wish they would have went with unknowns for Ellie and Joel though. Those Cold Opens especially this one slapped without having seen the actors or in this case actress before. Hope season 2 sees they don't need star power as much
I’ve never played the first game all the way through, I’ve stopped right when I find Bill every single time but Last of Us 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Maybe it’s time I go back and play the first before I continue watching the show
The opening scene of episode two, holy s*** that was fascinating to see. I love seeing the details behind the virus. Visuals look much better and cinematic although the hand held shots are a bit too much. Strong follow up.
Still not sold on this Joel and Ellie yet. The charm ain’t there for me.
Idk I think a lot of these takes are comparing very very early character exposure to these renditions of the characters to fully contextual opinions we have formed of the characters from the video game.
Like, in TLOU part 1 game, I really just don’t think at this point in the story we’re close to either Joel or Ellie being fully realized to the point where we’re connected to them heavily yet. At that point in the game, we’re still just learning about who these people are. Hard to compare 2 episodes to the experiences we’ve been through with Joel and Ellie in the games.
Give it some time

I guess lucky me I’ve never seen GOT
