If I replay a chapter it resets my progress to that earlier chapter and now I can’t play later parts without replaying the whole game. Wtf?

Yeah that's stupid. Thankfully I looked at a trophy guide before I started a new game and they had a warning on there.

I did NG+ and used a guide. Thought I got them all. But I missed a coin in day 2 and an artifact for Ellie. I reloaded Ellie’s day got the artifact and now you telling me I gotta replay the game AGAIN just to get one coin

It’s stupid how the game works, like Uncharted. After you complete the chapter where you need the collectible you need to quit and reload your completed game save. The progress will be saved when looking at the stats. So if you have the completed game save you’re good. I’m close to grabbing everything, was real thorough so I only need bits from here and there. It’s an annoying process.

No you don't wtf just go to chapters and grab the missing artifact. DO NOT SAVE OVER YOUR COMPLETED SAVE FILE. Just save over another empty manual save then reload your completed save file. You only have to do NG+ to fully upgrade both characters and weapons. I platinumed this today and only did two playthroughs. I got all the bronze, silver, and story based gold trophies on my first and got the two upgrade trophies on NG+. I didn't even need to finish NG+.

The worst part of the upgrade trophies is once you fully upgrade Ellie you have to slog through the rest of Ellie half of the game to get to Abby which is at least 5-8 hours. I maxed Ellie out on Seattle Day 1 and had to play an additional 4 hours to get to Abby Day 1. That right there is poor design in mind.
