I remember they swore they had real criticisms and weren’t transphobic and all that yet 99% of the content (speaking prior to game drop) were transphobic jokes on a character never proven to be trans. Now there’s actual criticisms on the game but that sub is a cesspool.

I think what he’s implying is you’re not wrong in comparing how they went a completely different route than expected, but that it’s a reach to suggest the quality of this game to be the equivalent of those projects but for gaming.

This is a genuinely good game at its core that falls apart in ways I didn't even expect while playing it. I can't say I disliked my time with it overall though. The story wasn't bad either for most of it, I actually thought it ranged from good to great in that department for a great portion of it. But that endgame cranks my issues with the game's writing and pacing up to 11

This game will be remembered and talked about for a long time, because there will be a lot more varied characterisation from here on out.

Aside the obvious transphobia, I can have regard for comments that talk about pacing of the game, that's fair. But this was a LOT more polished and much better than first, I don't see THAT many gameplay issues either, at the very least it is a unique experience with a very detailed narrative.
