GlockaveliPeople really need to learn the difference between them not liking something and it being bad. I don’t really like TPAB but its message and structure/how it’s put together is objectively good. You may not like the story choices they decided to go with and that’s fine, but to say it’s bad is ignorance.
That’s an oversimplification. We can’t discuss spoilers in this thread, but “story choices” are what literally make up the game. It’s a story game, the motivation of the gameplay is to get to the climax of the plot, the whole concept is to motivate the player to want something. In this game, they achieved that in a shortcut manner, by using the fact that we love the first game and it’s protagonist. It’s cheap, lazy writing. The game is a technical masterpiece. Millions of dollars were pumped into this lazy, cheap story so that it could be one of the best looking games ever. The gameplay, graphics, voice acting, music is fantastic, but the conflict in the narrative is just lazy writing.

But that's not the central conflict of the story bro. For an apt comparison it's like saying The Revenant is simplistic cause it kills of Leo's little child. Hell even the first TLOU deals with this lmao (the sarah thing).

really really good. i replayed black mesa thru hl 2 ep 2 right before alyx came, its crazy the leaps every single one of those games made
no videogame can be compared to alyx at the moment, the gameplay in that is just out of this world
