Do yall think abel holds back singing wise on his studio albums & why?

Absolutely he does
Not sure why, my guess is that the type of he music he makes doesn’t really warrant that kind of vocal performance. Or maybe he wants to reserve those showcases for live performances
But I’m with you, bro has such a fantastic voice that he never fully utilizes on recording
why would he be doin trilogy vocal runs on fast bpm tracks
Niggas so dense, is every new weeknd song fast ?
exactly
Also when he performs em live EVEN IF THEY ARE FAST PACED, he will do the runs so wtf

i dunno. maybe it's not the vibe that requires that type of singing to him. recent more slower songs have him singing some really impressive stuff too.

I agree boss, but I also think he holds back just a bit
Maybe its cause he uses less melodyne so it could be more real sounding in a sense?

Most of the time.
I don't think he was holding back on Out of Time though. Dude was going crazy on that one.

You have a point

im gonna be honest, don't hear anything impressive in this.
his best live singing eras are Starboy and AH imo.

Point is he has always let it fly more in his live performances whether you think it’s pitchy or not back in the day. Rolling Stone at mod club 2011 is another example of this.
