Joe had a good explanation for it. Watch his IG live. Every issue they had is them not understanding certain things. That 400k was a prorated payment. Every answer Joe gives clearly not explains each situation if you understand these simple terms and have business experience. The problem is people on the internet are taking things as face value without actually understanding the details.

Do you honestly believe an accounting firm that's been in business for more the 10 years would risk everything just to screw rory and mal? Come on man whatwould they gain in this scenario. The juice is not worth the squeeze.

I watched both sides and only when Mal and Rory spoke Joe rebutted. He didt offer anything of substance unless be had to defend himself. I'm good on Joe. I just know that I have a business and there is always receipts to back up spread sheets. When you gett audited or go to courts you have to show receipts not personalized excel spread sheet

at my previous job we did profit sharing. we weren’t going to the AP/AR department to ask for receipts and matching invoices to audit the company to figure out how much our profit share amount should be. nobody does that.

in fact, you’d literally have to hire your own accounting firm to check the work your company’s accounting department did. at that point your own employees are auditing the company to the level of the IRS. for what??

And that's a load of bullshit. I have my own company and if u were ever asked for receipts I would present them. You trust your HR. Rory and Mal didn't. It's simple but that doesn't change the fact fact every financial spread sheet is back with receipts lol.

I'm not even arguing with you because I literally do this every weekend.

what are you even talking about? HR has nothing to do with this.

ofc expense reports and accounts payable reports are backed up with receipts and invoices. nobody is disputing that.

i’m saying an accounting firm is never going to assume that an employee wants every receipt and invoice from a company’s operation in a quarter. that’s an extreme ask. and it amounts to auditing, which is extremely weird for anybody outside of the IRS to request to do. it’s even rare for the IRS.

if Rory wanted to pay a separate accounting firm to fully audit Joe’s business, I can see why Joe found that extremely strange and I can see why it caused a rift. that’s not normal.

Listen you are making this harder than it is.

Rory and Mal asked for reports that Joe hesitated to give and when he did it was a mistake. And Rory said himself that he paid for the accounting therefore he had every right to get detailed reports.

I'm not responding after this because you are defending joe like you know him personally.

No one hides accounting from friends lol. Especially ones rhat are being paid based on profit made

Ya. That's what I'm thinking. If Joe didn't do this on purpose to get new co-hosts on salary, then why couldn't this have been resolved in a 3 year time span.

are you saying you wouldn’t trust the numbers given to you from an accounting firm if you were mal/rory to the extent that you’d want to compile all of the invoices and their matching receipts and sit down with a calculator and check the accounting firm’s math?

Exactly, the fact that Rory once had a job in digital marketing means he would have seen accounting on an excel.
