i definitely feel like they should be talking way more about a mick jenkins or a smino. and i think parks was the only one who even talked about earls last couple releases but for a group of dudes who prize lyricism, how do you overlook earl?

also, you are completely right that they’ve literally only talked about vince for his humor and not his music. vince has been putting out extremely creative albums and pushing himself sonically and visual every time. like we heard him do a super house inspired album then turn around and do an album based on riding in the car listening to the radio. not to mention he really RAPS and has something to say. like joe is on the podcast talking about why vince isn’t doing media yet... maybe he’s waiting until you niggas take him serious an artist so his music doesn’t get pushed to the side for the sake of a podcast. he’s not just a nigga rapping, he’s an artists artist.

Vince doesn't even take his own music seriously why should they

i wonder if joe is gonna have that honest conversation about how cardi b lasted 2 summers, won that grammy over 4 people who deserved it more, tried to catch one multiple times and then sort of fell off?

He already spoke on Cardi seemingly falling off earlier this year.

Taking a break doesn't mean falling off, however. And, Money and Press still went platinum if we talking numbers.

i really don’t have huge problems with this podcast but reading these past couple pages really made me think about the fact that they talk about the same couple artists and topics and the real lifeblood of the show is the jokes and camaraderie and stories from joes heyday, and the occasional honest industry conversation.

People are just mad their favorite artists aren't being name dropped. You can't expect 40yos to listen to, or even appreciate Earl's or Vince's music. Plus these guys grew up in the era where bars were prioritized over everything, and not the era of these cohesive super artistic projects. That's why they stay talking about Banks, Fab, Griselda, etc.

The pod is actually doing great since the break. They just gotta leave the more serious topics alone and stick to cracking jokes and debating music.

They don’t even promote Joell or Crooked stuff as hard as they go for Royce

It’s funny cause they love Vince a lot.

Danny’s out there for their liking but I thought Q-Tip handling Danny’s last album would at least get him a mention

does this podcast have any producers? or is all the content literally just stuff they may talk about earlier that day and what joe thinks of on the fly?

because that’s why we may be have been getting griselda/drake/fab/tory to death over the last year

I'd consider Joe, Rory, and Savvon the producers. But Savvon barely seems to do anything, Joe is balancing other shows and projects himself, and I guess Rory is just Rory

bro just forget abt it. I remember the whole convo about rapping off-beat was happening and how their general opinion was that noone can do it justice. and they DEFINITELY listened to mach-hommy before that. not to mention their top50 convo and me thinking 'I wonder where they got Aesop Rock and El-P on their list of best rappers'

its also important to remember that these guys aren't as internet savvy as many of their listeners. they immediately dismiss and discussion on even barely non-mainstream rappers or hip-hop 'sports' talk as nerdy s*** and they're probably right. they think no-one wants to hear it bc in real life its the type of topics lonely lame dudes at parties talk ab bc they cant get any chicks so they bury it quickly. in reality their hip-hop talks are the absolute highlights. their 20 min post-sleepers convo on nas vs hov discographies is one of my favorite podcast moments ever

lol they should turn Mal's sexuality into a running joke now, like Mac on Always Sunny.

Mal doesn't invite the other pod brothers to his crib because he's got a d**** bike in the living room
