And btw those were during his music career so yeah mood music might not have brought the crowd but his antics during his music career did

The initial audience did come straight from his rap career. Joe went from doing a Juan Epstein episode with Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds, to them both saying "you should start a podcast".

INTPL was up and running a week later. This is before he started the retirement talks, before Rage and the Machine, the Drake thing etc.

But Chemistry is what kept everybody listening. I didn't like the episodes after Marisa got fired, didn't like the episodes after Rosenberg was fired and hated these ones. The Chemistry between friends is what people wanna hear. The jokes, the wild stories and the takes. He can have those with Ice and Ish too, Ice has been on the pod a few times and he does a good job,but Mal really did save the pod by coming on.

Nobody came because of Joe Budden the rapper but he never would have had the spotlight to do Joe Budden TV and all the shenanigans he was into at the time (chasing the OVO kids, Love and Hip Hop, the drama with women, etc.) if he didn’t have the fame from being a rapper and that’s what made people tune in. He was always involved in some random s*** on blogs lol
