Nah that doesn't make any sense. Because in their return episode they talk about this exact moment lol, which is why they took a month off.

Because initially when Joe told Rory to not come into the pod, they went like a week n a half, maybe 2 weeks without them coming to pod, then they had that conversation of "retreat to your corners", in which Mal just revealed it was Joe who put the "Month tag on it". They weren’t bout to go take another month off, after they just came back.

it does make sense.

Joe sent a text to Rory about taking some time off. He meant maybe two pods or so. Rory was suppose to come back.

where Joe f***ed up is he didnt specify how much time to take off and they didnt further communicate after. which is why Rory was confused and why Joe thinks he abandoned the pod.

After Mal and Joe had their argument, Mal took Rory's side and stopped coming. He literally said he was done with the pod at that point and if you look at his tweets, it looked like he meant it.

So Joe felt like they abandoned the pod. It looks they talked after that and Joe said everyone go to their corners while the accounting s*** gets handled, thinking this would calm down.

They got the accounting and came back. They still werent satisfied and wanted to know more numbers, especially after the wealth management company mistake. In other words, what they really wanted was an AUDIT.

Joe said no to showing the books, which is within his right. So they feel like Joe is hiding something.

So their lawyers communicated this to them and it looks they decided not to come back again. So Joe fired them.

Huh they had a contract in place and Joe did not honor it. Majority of the blame is on Joe.

Joe honored his contract. He paid them based on profits and they even found out they were overpaid.

Joe still does not need to show them the books. They're still employees.

They thought he would because they're friends.

But what they don't really understand that auditing puts his business at risk and is a headache.

And they dont understand that because they are EMPLOYEES, not bosses.
