does anyone who frequently listens to budden's podcast even listen/watch Joe Rogen experience? I very rarely check for it
i used to, rogan s*** slow for me now tho

I do when Rogan has a guest I like/find interesting.
I listen to JBP much more consistently tho.
i wonder why he chose to do it today though? this rant could’ve been saved till the last episode on Spotify

I think he sees it as a power move from his side
How they gon be mad at Spotify for going off numbers and expect them to go off "energy". Still Spotify pay them boys
they going off numbers in some ways but in other ways aren’t acknowledging the numbers and letting that influence the energy with how they handle joe.
like if you’re all about a***ytics and these guys are putting up crazy stats, you should have the right energy to accommodate them.
it’s not really binary, it’s an all in one thing
I couldn't fully hear all of Joe's rant yet. But is he upset because he and Ian didn't fully read their contracts??
no he wasn’t upset period but he made a point to say they’ve honored the contracts and were aware of what the contracts entailed.
which is important to say, because that draws the line to show that joe does good business even when he isn’t happy with how the company he’s working with is moving.
this is really something everyone trying to get into business from a creative or other standpoint to learn from. he’s pointing out specific moments where you should watch the companies actions and reactions and how you can move in a way that will help yourself.
They got Joe Rogan and Michelle Obama so they probably like we can half-ass the rest
the joe rogan fanbase will pay off, michelle not so much.
joe made a great point in that giving celebrities and notable people who aren’t podcasters the crazy bag then expecting them to grow and gain listeners and stay consistently good when they have no idea how to do it is a bad investment and will prove itself to be bad.
it’s funny nobody mentioned the irony of him being on the other side of the situation when total slaughter happened.
but one of the most important things to making a good podcast is years of consistency to understand how to find that rhythm and keep it interesting. this is my second favorite podcast ever (and i’m a long time fan of pods back to earlier in the past decade) and it was not good in the beginning at all. it took them finding the right groove. spotify throwing money around is looking at skin tone and prior deaks and a***ytics to make decisions but they’re missing the context, and that’s where the importance lies.
The bill simmons story was so funny and f***ed up at the same time
it might become one of my favorite stories ever told on the show because as funny and ridiculous it is, it also shows the soulless nature of the business
This was so well laid out and executed, its crazy that Spotify even allowed it to air
i thought about that lmao this was the kind of thing you expected to happen after they leave. i think part of it was to prod them into renegotiating.
but also i’m guessing they just send the episodes at time that would give them the chance to block it.
This is Nike and Kanye
All over again
Joe wishes he had half the business acumen of Kanye

To give Spotify a chance to give them a new offer
I couldn't fully hear all of Joe's rant yet. But is he upset because he and Ian didn't fully read their contracts??
from what i heard he was basically mad/thrown off they didnt regnegotiate and financially compensate them for the listener-ship numbers they consistently brought in + the ad and user info they brought
joe could have been got charlemagne ak and whoever else and started this podcast network he keeps threatening but he keeps wanting to use these convos for content purposes lol
its a whole list of people he could get to legitimately make that work but thats a lot of free advice
the bet of podcasts

he KNOWS spotify is trash I dont know wtf joe is waiting on man he BEEN shoulda talked to ian about this network s***

hopefully thats what he does this time but knowing him he's gonna reup with tidal or some s*** or spotify is gon bait him lol
make him head of podcast division or some s***

man look if spotify pat him on the ass and give him a position and a title like that and he signs back on and shuts the f*** up im gonna be some type of mad
Strongly doubt that hes outperforming the ringer
I’m to lazy to look up and post their charts for you
I read somewhere that Joe allegedly spoke about the audio cutting on an episode once. if he did, I wouldn't know which ep it was.
also, lol I wouldn't join the twitch community just for Joe. part of the reason I got Spotify is the access to music. I aint a gamer like that
Twitch is owned by Amazon aint it? They’d be able to play music there freely as well I believe due to Amazon music
Joe wishes he had half the business acumen of Kanye
lol what business acumen does Kanye have. He just has great leverage, confidence and a f***in great team that bows to the beat of his drum.
it is crazy that negotiations has been stalled since July. Spotify not even bothered lol. But even worrisome tho is the fact that rory, mal, & parks aren't involved in the negotiations and know must of the s*** going on as we the listeners do. Like why is Ian negotiating on the rest of the pods behalf
They lowkey nasty for actually wanting the rolex's though. Spotify wouldn't give them vacation time but were like "Here's some watches lil niggas"
hopefully thats what he does this time but knowing him he's gonna reup with tidal or some s*** or spotify is gon bait him lol
make him head of podcast division or some s***
yea Joe looking for a quick easy bag. Don't think he's interested in starting his own major business/network
I’m to lazy to look up and post their charts for you
lol the ringer is a network that has it's own shows. Spotify bought the whole network. So they have different ringer podcasts. But right now JBP is above the first ringer pod on the charts so that says something. @nikedon
