it’s bizarre

and what’s wilder is, if there’s any album that is objectively a classic from 2016 to now, it’s Blonde.

being a contrarian is not interesting or entertaining if you don’t at least have the ability to expound on why you genuinely feel that way.

i think joe saying “you’re trolling” isn’t literally true but what it really comes down to is “you keep saying these things to go against the grain but you can’t explain why you feel that way” which would be indicative of someone that’s trolling. but i think the real issue is just bad podcasting.

i really don’t lol

i just recognize that if millions of niggas love something for years and it never gets old and it shifts culture, it is an objective classic whether any individual likes it or not

there are plenty of classics i don’t listen to because they don’t fit my taste musically, but i have a good enough ear to understand what’s working for it and a good enough cultural awareness to understand how it’s impactful

to say “it’s not a classic and y’all just hyping it up cause he ain’t been around but he hasn’t earned that mystique” is actually the opinion of a person that lives in a bubble lmao. and we talking about the guy who literally hangs his hat on being inside all the time and literally living in a bubble.

What sphere of influence does Blonde have? It’s a cult classic, and that is it. Far from an “objective classic”. What album in the last five years that was highly appraised, whether commercially or critically, where everybody could point to Blonde being one of the lead influences of the project?

Like who calls Blonde a classic that isn’t already a Frank Ocean stan? Cmon bro objective classic? That’s putting it on a Thriller, MBDTF, Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic level. Obviously music isn’t objective, but making that type of claim “objective classic”, that means it should at least be common to hear non Frank Stan’s, and general fans agree that Blonde is a classic. And that isn’t the case.
