-NWA being forefathers of the gangsta rap genre
-The face of the signature G Funk sound for the West Coast
-Artists that came under Dre impacting the culture way more than any of Kanye’s artists
Fam rap since 2011 has been influenced by 808 & Heartbreaks
• Fashion I don't even gotta speak on.
• Kanye's success contributed to the decline of gangsta rap, if we really wanna talk about it.

You're right, this decade to me feels like Ye, Wayne and indirectly Outkast way more than Dre. College dropout, late reg, grad and 808s all so influential as albums on this era. Fashion is part of the culture too like you say and nobody comes close to ye since he came out in influencing fashion.
They're right about Dre and the artists he put out tho. Dre's strongest argument against ye on influence rn would be Kendrick and Beats, which are a big deal but don't feel as connected with everything else going on in the same way ye can be traced back to something in most people's approach this decade.

Other than Dre producing for Kendrick, why does he fall under Dre's umbrella? I don't get it

just in terms of something i think you can link directly to dre culturally. like how you can link j cole, drake, chance, travis etc. to kanye no matter how much or little he's done for their career, i've always felt like Kendrick, especially on the projects before Damn, was linking himself back to everything dre and everybody accomplished
on his podcast episode with michael che, talib kweli told a story about kanye wanting to come out before him on a show in a wheelchair because there were rumors he got beat up, and standing and making a spectacle lmao.
made me think about joe’s story of already running late to starting a show and kanye asking last minute to open up for him. seems like ye was so sure of himself that he understood the magnitude of him popping out on a show even before he blew up.

Decline of gangster rap only to make southern gangster rap the biggest in the genre lol cut it out

Are you referring to trap music?
Joe was backing it up by indirectly saying Kanye isnt s*** like he always does basically
And there it is
Also joe kinda touched on it a lil when when they brought up Cudi and he said to rory “i dont put respect on any of the rappers you hipsters ushered in”. I think Joe views Kanye similarly as someone who gets too much gas from “hipsters” (which he really means white people)
Joe is so delusional this nigga Ye was producing Blueprint while Joe was running around in trash bags for jerseys and breathing Angel dust
And then of course when he's in a good mood (bi-polar uptick) he'll act all peace and love and "mature" like he didn't say some wild s*** just 3 days ago I cant
I love these type pods, the tension at a all time high
nothing funnier than when rory get super mad🤣🤣🤣
Wednesday’s podcast should be good. Maybe. Between the Griselda/Shady thing, Ak being nuts online, and Vlad was on No Jumper talking about Joe’s beef with him, how Vlad asked Ak to tell Joe that he apologizes, how he ran into Joe walking out of a strip club and Vlad was with some dude but Joe just walked by without acknowledging him then sat in the car for 15 mins. Vlad also said that they basically do the same thing now
Joe been d***riding Dre since the podcast first started. Thats the only reason he aint trash the song

idk I feel like ever since Kanye became a billionare Joe switched up and has been praising Ye lately lol
Stop listening to mal music opinion fab getting swept up the floor
Still cant believe this dude went 0-20 in the fab & wayne battle and then said he left out the best tapes because Fab would win too easily
