this is why niggas in music media or in close proximity to music media need to be aware of subgenres in hip-hop.

niggas need to stop acting like we can’t call a rap album a rap album because it’s not 100% rapping lol. even when they were matter of fact about igor not being a rap album when it dropped, tyler (or a feature) is rapping on literally 90% of the songs lmao.

joe speaks about marketing/image tricks too much to ignore what the actual music is and solely focus on marketing when determining what someone is

and nothing about travis scott is trance/edm at alll

just started reading but salute to him for shouting out the champs lol one of the funniest podcasts of all time and instrumental in bringing black comics and musicians into the podcasting world. back when juan ep and combat jack were the only hip-hop podcasts

when it’s all said and done, joe and combat jack will probably get the well deserved credit for making podcasting a popular and profitable thing in the hip hop community (i think juan ep deserves credit too, i just don’t know if niggas will give it to them)

but the champs outside of being incredibly funny clearly introduced a lot of guys to the medium (most of them would literally ask “what is a podcast” while on the show) and neal would make an effort to encourage them to start their own shows. and many of them have, from charlemagne to danny brown to questlove to godfrey etc
