The way they be clowning Mal for still trying to have the cool guy persona when he almost 40 with no girl.
Mal as a charecter development or lack there of is comedy in of itself
What was so infuriating about it?
Trying to remember everything I heard yesterday: Andrew was basing practically half of his argument on the fact that Charlamagne personally has a comfortable life and great job. He was trying to make the case that things in America really aren't "that bad" or as bad as they could be just because of how s***ty other countries can be. Saying the wealth gap in those countries is massive, not realizing that it's the same case here for plenty and PLENTY of people.
Comparing America to some of those s***tier countries shouldn't be a litmus test for this country, considering the idea behind what we are and what many people have always touted the country to be about.
Can't remember the rest of it but basically everything C was rebuking him with is exactly what I would've said to him if it was me. Andrew was clearly only going off of his first-hand experiences and relationships, which would be fine if he were at least aware of how out-of-touch he really is
Never watched it because I dislike them both and this just further enforces my opinion on them.
Have their numbers been going down or up? Feel like it fell off in popularity as well anyway.
Probably down for BI and up for F2, but I don't know that to be fact. But once C had his d***ging controversy a couple years ago it felt like they were distancing themselves from each other and not putting as much energy into BI. Andrew began focusing more on F2 and turning it into a more general podcast and puts a lot more energy into it than BI

As out of touch regarding the US as he might be, his point wasn't wrong though. There is still no way to compare the US poverty to third world countries poverty and that's a fact. Not saying that the wealth gap doesn't exist but that's not really the issue here.

Of course he's right that other countries are worse than us in plenty of different regards. But he was knowingly or unknowingly sugarcoating the circumstances. Poverty is still poverty, and a wealth gap like we currently have (granted it's not as severe as it "could be") in a country like ours that is still trying to peddle us a facade about equality and opportunity and democracy when millions of people are not seeing that at all, is a problem. We're literally being lied to every day and used as pawns by the wealthy and powerful. We should not at all be okay with where we are right now as a country, but based on Andrew's arguments, maybe we should just suck it up and appreciate what we've been left with, because geez, you could've been born in the Congo!
I rant a lot and I'm mentally ill-equipped to dismantle his argument like it deserves to be. But I can't be the only one who sees his argument for the bullshit it is
And I want everyone reading this to watch how much further we descend as a country in the next year. We are in the middle of a historic moment and this country will not at all be where it was even 2-3 years ago. I mean that in terms of our social, political, and economical climates. People will continue to laugh the idea off of America changing in ways we couldn't have imagined 4 years ago. But it's already halfway there, and they need to wake up already. The bulk of us already accept it as a kleptocracy as-is.

Does anyone here still listen to Brilliant Idiots? Andrew's argument today about America's poverty vs. other countries was infuriating and disingenuous as hell if not just outright misinformed. I feel gross and mad and I'm not even that type of person usually.
I've been listening to Flagrant2 a ton recently just to supplement JBP to give a better idea of the type of person/fan I am
you listened to Alt Right Andy, you take the L my g.
Me being from Florida, it sounds weird as hell hearing Joe say none of them have cars when money is not the issue. I know NYC is different, but when you add up the uber/taxi bill, rental cars, you might as well get something of your own.
Eh in NYC it’s just super normal to never drive, once you’re there you understand why
Because they're using her voice and her words and her contributions and they get paid off of streams
How does it make sense that Mal gets a share of the revenue generated by episodes from back then instead of her?
Also they sold their back catalog to Spotify, so she should have gotten a portion of that as well.
That's like if we made a song together and put it on band camp on we make 2k that we share
Then we have a dispute and aren't friends anymore, we stop working together
Eventually that song becomes a #1 hit, you're still on it, and you don't get s***.
Unless she relinquished her rights of course but why the f*** would she do such a thing
I see what your saying but I feel like Spotify is not really paying for the back catalog, they are paying for the podcast to be exclusive going forward. Before the deal they were uploading the podcast to multiple DSPs for free, so I don't see why Spotify would pay for the back catalog unless it was removed from other streaming platforms.
A more accurate comparison is if we made a song and KNOWINGLY uploaded it for free without expecting payment to gain exposure, and a Label decides it just wants to sign you to make more music independently going forward.

Nah NYC easier to move thru without a car in most cases
It’s like a 60/40 split not having vs having one.
I have a car and don’t drive 7days a week

Damn both my parents are from NYC and never had cars so that was my perspective

If I’m being honest I don’t need one.
I Just like it for Heavy snow and heavy rain days or listening to music on a late nite drive.
Other than that it’s useless most times for me. subway way faster
as a joe budden fan this slaughterhouse reunion was such a wholesome moment g.
You can DEF see them clearly tryna up the quality with these last 2 episodes.
